Job Description
Title: Deli Clerk 1 Part Time
FLSA: Non-exempt (Hourly rate; overtime eligible)
Reports to: Deli Manager
Summary: To assure high quality customer service and assist in department operations. Provide support toward
department objectives and helps to drive sales.
Assignments and work direction will be provided by Deli Manager, Deli Merchandiser, or the manager/person in charge.
Essential Functions:
 Follow all Red Shirt Service guidelines at all times
 Greet each customer as they approach the Deli counter
 Process each customer order with proper quantities, quality and price
 Promote product through selling sessions and suggestive selling
 Answer questions, assists customers with special requests and provide assistance as appropriate
 Follows proper safety procedures
 Stocks and rotates product
 Code date product and remove all out dated product or product unfit for sale
 Maintains areas outside of the deli case such as, but not limited to, side wall, hoagies, rotisserie chickens and other
warmer items, pre-wrapped deli meats
 Follows all department cleaning, sanitation, and food safety guidelines
 Follows proper packaging, labeling, and in place merchandising of product
 Identification of all department products; including, but not limited to, kind and brand
 Follows all store and department policies as stated in the teammate handbook and any other manuals
 Perform additional duties as assigned by management
 Must be at least 18 years of age to work in this department

Essential Minimum Qualifications/Skills
 Reading
 Basic math skills
 Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with teammates and customers
 Basic writing skills
 Ability to differentiate color, shape, and size
 Sense of smell
 Visual clarity
 Good Telephone and intercom etiquette
 Ability to follow verbal and written directions
