Job Description
Title: Night Manager full time
FLSA: Non-exempt - hourly
Reports to: Store Manager
Summary: To assist the Store, Non-Perishable, and Department Managers in directing and managing all
phases of store operations in a manner designed to achieve and exceed all Boyer’s Food Markets Store
Operating Targets by exceeding our customers’ expectations in all aspects of Red Shirt Service,
Cleanliness, Product Quality, and General Store Presentation; serves are the manager in charge in the
absence of other store management.
Oversees all teammates and directs work during evening store hours but may be assigned other shifts to
meet store needs.
1.) Essential Functions:
 Oversees all departments when in charge
 Maintains optimal store conditions and assures those under their direction do as well
 Communicates and maintains a good working relationship with teammates and management
 Follows, and assures teammates are , any and all directions given by store and department
 Oversees proper shrink/damage control
 Ensures proper signing and tagging procedures are in place
 Responsible for presentation standards (GOLD Look)
 Responsible for performing and directing proper facing and stocking
 Assists in achieving all store targets
 Knowledgeable in all corporate procedures, policies, and programs as they relate to teammate
oversight and customer service
 Assures food safety regulations are being met
 Assists in the maximum utilization of teammates through effective training, motivation, and
 Assures cleaning and sanitation program is being followed
 Assures compliance to all safety programs within the store
 Assists in all Teammate/Customer accident reporting and investigating
 Assists with inventory preparation and completion as needed
Familiar with and abides by all aspects of Boyer’s Food Markets Teammate Handbook
 Assists customers with special orders; which may include covering a department that is not
 Performs individual department duties in the absence of a department teammate or due to
increase in business ; must be able to operate in all departments and have a strong
understanding of each in order to advise teammates and intervene when needed
 Answers questions for customers and handles complaints on shift
 Assists in maintaining and promoting the Red Shirt Service Culture – leads by example
 Performs any additional duties as assigned by the store manager or corporate management
Essential Minimum Qualifications/Skills
 Minimum requirement of a high school education desired
 Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the supermarket or related retail industry
 Working knowledge of the supermarket industry
 Ability to make effective decisions and provide good leadership
 Excellent oral and written communication skills for dealing with customers, teammates, and
 Basic math skills to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, mark up, percentages
 Excellent organization and follow up/follow through skills
 Good time management skills
 Ability to work well under pressure
 Ability to meet or exceed deadlines and goals
