Hexcel is currently seeking a SP Bond Operator for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Read and follow written, and verbal work instructions. Accurately record data legibly in the router in real time and using the RF Smart guns, records transactions in real time.
Responsible for maintaining acceptable productivity rates and accuracy requirements, including recording out time, verify thaw time and drop time or other process verifications.
Verifies product is within tolerances using measuring devices including, but not limited to protractors, scales, calipers, micrometers and other inspection tools.
Identify, document and report non-conforming material using established procedures. Continually seeks way to improve the process and uses the DCR process to submit improvements.
Responsible for inspecting and setting up a variety of hand and power tools including, but not limited to band saw, hand router, air sander, cookie cutter, and hand sander.
Utilizes tools safely to shape, form, and format the materials to defined process and within specification.
Special Process Operators will train and work on the following equipment and applications to meet production goals when necessary: Roll formers, Heated Platen Presses, IR Ovens, and Apparatus, Arc Expander, X-Y Duplicator, Table Router, Drill Press, Drum /Belt sander and other equipment determined necessary to perform job function.
Responsible for inspecting and setup of bonding tools. Ensures tool is clean and free of foreign object debris.
Performs splicing, stabilization, core densification, foam fill operations while maintaining acceptable productivity, accuracy rates and responsible for bagging parts for further processing when required.
Bonders will train and work on the following equipment and applications to meet production goals when necessary: Roll formers, Die Presses, Heated Platen Presses, Ply-Cutter, Drum/Belt Sander, IR Ovens, table saw, and other equipment determined necessary to perform job function.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent, required.
Minimum of six months experience required, preferably in manufacturing.
Experience using small hand and power tools, a plus.
Experience working with handheld scanners, interacting with MRP or inventory control systems, preferred.
Must be an active Quality Delegate or be able to pass the requirement to be a Quality Delegate.
Must have a Forklift Certification or be able to obtain the forklift certification.
Possess good hand dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Basic computer skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required.
Works well with all levels of the organization including the ability to communication and interact effectively.
